In honor of Long Term Care Administrators Week, Heritage Healthcare Services would like to recognize all of our friends, associates and customers who do this challenging and difficult work every day. We truly understand and appreciate what you all sacrifice in order to care for our most vulnerable population under the demands of doing so with less resources and greater regulation.

Gladeview Health Care Center Recognizes Heritage Employee

Heritage Healthcare Services is extremely pleased to announce that Gladeview Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, located in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, has recognized Dionicio Diaz, a Heritage Healthcare employee as their September Employee of the Month! Dionicio is the Heritage Housekeeping Manager at Gladeview.

A Gladeview staff member stated Dionicio is “always going above and beyond in [his] job duties and always doing it with a smile on [his] face”.

Heritage Healthcare Clients And Employees Win Big With The Company’s Latest Promotion

Heritage Healthcare clients will be in good hands with newly-promoted District Manager, Val DePina. Mr. DePina has been with Heritage Healthcare since 1998 when he started working as a floor technician at The John Scott Nursing Home in Braintree, Massachusetts. Mr. DePina and his family had recently moved to our area from Praia in the Cape Verdean Islands. After less than two years with the company, in 2000, he was promoted to Assistant Manager of a facility in Middleboro, Massachusetts. By 2003, he earned his first position as Housekeeping and Laundry Manager in one of Heritage’s larger facilities in Quincy, Massachusetts. Since then, Val has managed two other facilities in the Rhode Island market with great success. More importantly, Val has been an excellent teacher and mentor for associates in the Heritage Management Training Program. Many of his employees have been promoted to the level of Manager.

Val has shown consistent loyalty and dedication while working on almost every new facility startup team, and he has led many of the various night-time and special projects that we have been involved with over the years. It is with the deepest of sincerity that the Heritage Healthcare family congratulates Val DePina on his well-deserved promotion and we thank him for all he has done for our clients and our company.

Heritage Healthcare’s Director of Business Development, Jeff Drew, shares a laugh with Lois Young, Director of the Llewsac Lodge on the campus of Carleton-Willard Village. Jeff was delivering a grand prize to her which she won at the LeadingAge Massachusetts Annual Conference and Exhibition in May. It was good to share in her genuine excitement. Lois said, “This is honestly the first thing I ever won in my life!”

It just goes to show you that if you are fortunate enough to be at one of the New England area conferences or trade shows and you stop by and see us at the Heritage Healthcare booth, not only will you walk away with great information, but you just may win a great prize!

Quick Action And Knowing The Protocol Makes Hero Of Heritage Healthcare Associate Weily Tavarez

New England Home for the Deaf Executive Director, Emmanuel Ikomi, presented Weily Tavarez with this expression of gratitude for his quick actions in response to an electrical panel fire in the laundry room in April, 2012. Weily shut all the power to the electrical equipment in the area and immediately followed protocol from there keeping damage to an absolute minimum and insuring the safety of all those at the home.
