Heritage Healthcare Services truly enjoyed spending the day with its clients, friends and new acquaintances at this year’s conference. It was great to hear all of the positive feedback from the conference attendees on the variety of vendor services offered and on the quality of the programs in general at the Crowne Plaza venue. Thank you so much to the Conference Host, RIALA, for providing us an opportunity to share our history of service to the Assisted Living Community with so many of members of that community. Heritage Raises a Toast on St. Patrick’s Day to the Little Sisters of the Poor

The team at Heritage Healthcare Services was fortunate to enjoy the afternoon with the Sisters , residents and supporters of Little Sisters of the Poor at their annual St. Paddy’s day fundraiser held at the Old Gristmill Tavern in Seekonk, Massachusetts. As always, it was a packed house for an afternoon and evening of traditional Irish food, music and dance.

Gladeview’s New Partnership With Heritage Healthcare Shows Immediate Returns

When Administrator Paul Knutsen was looking for new options for his housekeeping and laundry programs, he knew he needed to consider things beyond making sure basic cleanliness was achieved. Chief among his concerns was finding an organization who would understand the needs of his residents and work well within his culture change initiative. After a few short months, the home was wonderfully clean, but just as importantly to Paul, his residents were getting the care they needed in a non-institutionalized form. This is no better exemplified than by the following letter from Gladeview’s Administrator, Paul Knutsen.

“Do you remember one of the first times you came to Gladeview to pitch your company and we showed you the Raymond video? The housekeeper that went way out of his way to give a part of himself to a resident. Spent the few extra minutes with the resident to make her more comfortable etc.?

Well yesterday afternoon I witnessed a scene from that video with one of your staff here at Gladeview. Jose was working in room 209 and was sitting down and having a nice discussion with one of our residents and she was truly enjoying his company.

My presence unfortunately disrupted this special time as I think he felt he needed to immediately jump back into housekeeper mode which was unfortunate. After he had left the resident spoke to me and went on and on about Jose. How nice of a guy he was, a very hard worker and how much she enjoyed the fact that he went out of his way to have some simple conversation with her.

This is obviously something I would prefer to encourage not discourage. I did offer some praise of the situation with Dionicio [Heritage Manager at Gladeview] this morning, but really want to make sure this gentleman truly understands the positive impact of his actions and am hopeful that you can recognize him in some way and encourage the rest of the crew to follow his example.

It was a great thing to see especially as we are starting the training for the Planetree initiative that is going ahead full bore at this time”.

It is with great pride that Heritage Healthcare received news today from Tockwotton Home that they were ranked as one of the top 39 (out of over 15,500) nursing homes in the country, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2012 Best Nursing Homes Honor Roll. The work that Heritage performs in partnership with Tockwotton directly impacts the areas measured in these rankings. Congratulations to our Heritage Associates and Tockwotton Home for their achievement!

A long-time and well-respected fixture of Holden, Massachusetts, and its surrounding communities, Holden Rehab and Nursing Center has hired Heritage Healthcare to help them in continuing to improve the experience and lifestyles of its residents.
